Thank you for your interest in Helping Inspire Change in Venice Beach. We appreciate your support and Earth thanks you too! Here is all the information you need to know for our upcoming clean-up event on September 22nd. The clean-up event will start at 9am and end at 12pm. Feel free to stay just a few hours or the entire duration. We will have games, prizes to raffle and discuss the importance of maintaining the coastline and the impact trash and debris can cause to the local environment and its inhabitants. We also offer community service learning credit for any student who needs it.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT BEACH CLEANUPS
Waivers
Each person must have a signed waiver to participate in a beach cleanup. You can sign them onsite, but please remember to send your child with a pre-signed waiver if you aren’t going to be at the cleanup.
What to Wear and Bring
You should always wear sunscreen and a hat. You need to wear closed-toe shoes, to make sure you don’t step on anything sharp, and make sure to bring a reusable water bottle. We will provide all the clean-up supplies, however, we also encourage volunteers to bring reusable garden gloves or buckets from home to reduce the amount of trash we create during the cleanup.
How to Stay Safe
Sometimes at beach cleanups we find sharp or dangerous items. Never pick up anything that looks like it could be medical waste or broken glass, any kinds of needles or weapons, or any dead animal. Alert your cleanup captain or a lifeguard.  Don’t approach any wild animal, even if it seems sick or injured.
